Washington D.C., January 5, 2016 - One of priorities defined by the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) for 2016 is to include the gender perspective in all its programs. In response to that, we are happy to introduce the special recognition for "Best Female Entrepreneur" within the framework of the Talent and Innovation Competition of the Americas (TIC Americas) and the Caribbean Innovation Competition (CIC).
The objective of this new award is to encourage womenentrepreneurs in our hemisphere to participate with their innovative ideas in the international competition that YABT implements in Latin America and the Caribbean. We believe that entrepreneurship is an effective tool for the empowerment of our youth and we want to encourage young women to participate in our programs. It’s our way of contributing to gender equality and provide access to economic opportunities to young women", said Luis Viguria, CEO of YABT.
YABT's mission is to empower young people through programs and activities that allow them to become productive members of their communities, increasing accessibility to new opportunities, and opening a space for them to act as partners in contributing to the development of their countries and the region. This award is an incentive meant to encourage woman to take an active role in their societies through entrepreneurship and achieve a more equitable economic growth.
TIC Americas and CIC are international competitions and startup accelerator programs, through these competitions YABT provides access to resources such as seed capital, access to international markets, mentoring, international visibility, evaluation of your project by renowned experts, and many more benefits.
We invite young women entrepreneurs from the hemisphere to register their proposals and participate in the competitions. The application deadline is January 15, 2016.
